SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS​
  • Increased the number of underrepresented students from the California State University-Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (CSU-LSAMP) at Sacramento State Program applying to and enrolling into graduate programs by 400% and 275%, respectively.
  • Co-principal investigator and associate project director for the Louis Stokes STEM Pathways and Research Alliance: CSU-LSAMP Statewide Alliance comprised of all 23 CSU campuses (2018-2023).
  • Co-author and program coordinator for Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) Program, an NIH NIGMS-MBRS (R25) research training grant (2017-2022).
  • Developed infrastructures and built the programmatic platforms for research-training programs aimed at diversifying the STEM fields and the newly founded Student Research Center.
  • Campus coordinator and conference organizer for the 32nd annual CSU Student Research Competition serving more than 250 research students giving 202 oral presentations from 22 CSU campuses. 
  • Founder of the SACNAS at Sac State Student Chapter and STEM Diversity Leader for SACNAS.
  • Delivered seminars, workshops and keynote presentations about the need of Diversity in Science to more than 300 underrepresented minority students outside of Sacramento State, including MESA California Community Colleges Statewide Retreat, REU Summer Program at University of Georgia, Athens, and NIH-MARC Program at University of Puerto Rico, Humacao.
  • Successfully managed to concurrently work between 3 - 4 part-time positions through assigned time to fulfill one full-time appointment as Lecturer (non-tenured) at Sacramento State (2013 – present).
